BitMixList

Policy

Listing policy

BitMixList is a directory. This policy explains which services we list, how we rank and label them, and how we handle complaints about them. It applies to every listed service in the same way.

What we list

We list bitcoin mixers, swap services, P2P markets, Monero services, CoinJoin coordinators and privacy tools. A listed service must:

  • be reachable at the addresses recorded on its listing (clearnet, onion or both);
  • publish its fees and limits;
  • not ask for identity documents within the limit recorded on its listing. "No KYC" on BitMixList means no ID under that limit, not that a service will never ask;
  • if it issues letters of guarantee, publish the key it signs them with. We record that PGP fingerprint or Bitcoin address on the listing.

Services submitted by the community are shown as unverified until we have reviewed them. Some categories require a listing fee. A fee does not buy reviews, ranking or an exception to this policy. We test services with methods we do not disclose in full, so that they cannot be gamed.

What a listing means

A listing is information, not an endorsement or a guarantee. Services change their terms, domains and keys. Before you send funds, check the address against the official domains on the listing and save any letter of guarantee the service issues.

How services are ranked

Lists are ordered by reputation: published positive reviews minus published funds claims. Neutral reviews do not count. Every listed service shows both numbers, for example +12 −3. Services marked as scams and services that are offline stay at the end of each list. Availability is checked automatically and shown as Online, Offline or Unknown.

Labels and notices

  • Notice: something you should know before using the service, explained on its listing.
  • Scam: the service is the subject of a documented scam accusation; the listing explains it and links the evidence.
  • New domain: the domain was registered less than 90 days ago, according to its public registration record.
  • Unverified: a community submission we have not reviewed yet.

Customer reviews and funds claims

Reviews are written from a BitMixList account and moderated before they are published. Adding an order link lets us confirm that the order exists; the link itself is never published.

Choose "Funds claim" only for an order that is still unresolved: coins or a refund you have not received. If the service resolves it, edit the review or withdraw it. Funds claims lower a service's ranking, so they are held to the evidence standard below.

Complaints and disputes

BitMixList runs a directory with a consistent complaint process. We do not carry out our own blockchain forensics for each allegation. A complaint has to come with enough primary evidence to identify the transaction and verify it.

The evidence standard

  • Services that issue letters of guarantee. The signed letter is the standard evidence. It preserves the order details after the order page is gone, and we can check its signature against the key recorded on the listing. If you cannot provide the signed letter, we cannot help you with the complaint: it is logged but not decided. The only exception is equivalent evidence, meaning complete signed order data or transaction records that independently verify the order terms.
  • Other services. The complete order details (order ID, amounts, addresses, dates) and the transaction IDs that let us verify them independently. Screenshots are easy to fabricate and are not enough on their own. Our support for complaints about services that do not sign a letter of guarantee is limited: without a signed record of what was agreed, we can rarely verify the terms of an order, so most of these complaints are logged rather than decided.

How a complaint is handled

  1. We log the complaint and confirm that we received it.
  2. If the standard evidence is missing, we ask for it.
  3. We verify what we receive: the letter's signature against the recorded key, and the transactions on-chain.
  4. We ask the listed service to respond.
  5. We record an outcome.

Outcomes

  • Not enough evidence. The complaint stays on record, but we make no determination against the service. We reopen the review if the complainant later provides the signed letter or equivalent, independently verifiable evidence.
  • Verified and resolved. The service paid or refunded. The record is closed.
  • Verified and unresolved. The funds claim stands and lowers the service's ranking. Depending on its seriousness and on any earlier cases, we may add a notice or a scam label, or remove the listing.

When there is not enough evidence, our statement follows this form:

BitMixList received the complaint and requested the standard transaction evidence required to investigate it. Because the order details cannot be verified from the evidence provided, we do not have sufficient evidence to make a determination against the service. The complaint remains on record, and we will reopen the review if the complainant provides the signed letters of guarantee or equivalent, independently verifiable evidence.

This rule protects both sides: a real victim is not dismissed, and a listed service is not damaged by an allegation that cannot be authenticated.

Protect your own order

Save the letter of guarantee before you pay; the swap checkout on BitMixList will not continue until you confirm that you have. Keep the transaction IDs of your deposit and of any payout.

Removal and appeals

We may remove a listing for verified, unresolved funds claims; for impersonation or phishing; for requiring identity documents within the recorded limit; or for a long period of unavailability. A listed service can ask for a correction or appeal a decision by sending evidence through support. We review appeals under the same evidence standard.

Choosing a service

Compare the address with the official domains on the listing; scam clones copy the design of real services but use a different domain. Prefer services that sign a letter of guarantee for every order, and check their reviews and age. To send a large amount, split it into smaller orders.

Why BitMixList exists

Links to bitcoin mixers were banned on Bitcointalk, so people needed another place to find mixers and check whether they are safe. BitMixList has done this since 2023 and has since added swap services, P2P markets, Monero services and CoinJoin coordinators.
